xbox sells most console with the arcade. i think the reason behind it is xbox unit fails so much that people just buy arcade console to swap instead of going to ps3. at amazon, arcade is like 20th best selling electronic compared to elite with is well over 100th. they can stop making the elite i think

I said it before the PS3 price drop and I'll say it now. The $299 Elite is not the right move. You simply cannot, I repeat, CANNOT compare a $299 Elite and a $299 PS3 and say that the 360 is a better value.

I absolutely LOVE my 360 and I play it every day, but if I were faced with the choice right now of one or the other, each of them at $299, I would choose the PS3. (In a few days, I will have both.) You just can't argue anymore that it's all about the games, so based on features alone, the 360 will lose the sales war this year if it remains at $299. If this drop turns out to be true, and its looking more and more like it is true, it is a result of MS being on the REactive rather than the PROactive.

My prediction: MS will try to get that price down to $249 by the end of the year and leave the Arcade where it is.

Ok....pls understand when I say this.....there is no difference between these two systems.

They both have 120 GB HDD, both play games, and movies, and both play online.

The PS3 has Blu-Ray so what? You still have to pay for ur films...what's the 360 equivlant to that (at least in the US)? Netflix.

The PS3 has free online play, but Xbox Live has proven that it's worth the price with a better intregated Online system.

Playstation has wifi.... big deal. When 60% of the US still uses broadband and another 15% are still using dialup it doesn't matter.

Both does what it needs to do: play games. Apparently people are foregtting that important fact. So until the ps3 graphically kills the 360, they're both worth the same price.

Its also one thats selling, too. Many of my friends do have a black 360, including one I got from a friend after he busted it(beyond repair, might I add >_> but at least now I have a cool half black, half white case XD) After the 1v1 with Don Mattrick though, all I know is that the Pro console was outselling both the Arcade and Elite by a very large margin. Beyond that, I don't know if the Elite is selling close to the Arcade though...

We have learn several times that using amazon as a source of sales info its not the right way to go.

And the people who do that are stupid or impatient of waiting for two weeks for their console to come back. And that's not alot of them.

My 360 has failed on me twice. Not one time have I thought " I should waste 200 bucks cuz I can't be patient for two weeks".

MS needs to get to get over the size of the HDD and move to 2 skus one without HDD and one with.

Arcade $179.99

HDD version $249.99 and put in whatever HDD is most cost effective.  I would assume since PS3 slim is going with 120GB drive and Elite price reduction is 120GB drive that 120GB is most cost effective.
