Yeah. With keyboard support it is playble on PS3 but X360 is different story...

Square got FFXI working on 360..What would stop them from getting FFXIV to work..and from what I hear...It will play almost the same


It will work but it is different story that is it enjoyable. Writing chat messages with pad is pain. So slow that it takes ages to write little longer message. (and chatting while playing is key features in MMO's.)

Xbox 360 has Cross Game chat when your a Gold user..Why would I text anyone?...The game will only support text...But with Xbox 360 you can chat with people regardless what comm abilities the game has....

     I think that if the PS3 Slim and the holiday games for PS3 in Japan have the desired effect, then the 360 version might get cancelled.  And, if it isn't ofiicially announced at TGS, I think the odds of a 360 version will grow a bit slimmer.

I would abide...But SE has made it very clear they want to put this on 360..even as far as saying they are talking with MS to come to an agreement...they have said it will support pc/Ps3 play...which ultimately might be the problem...but the PC version will be on Windows..so..Don't hold your breath on the game bieng cancelled..But then again who knows...MS might try to make the Game for Windows Live...I don't know...I'm so exicited how this is unfolding...I am glad that now PS3 biased Fans no longer say that game shared by one console and the PC are not Console Exclusive..

I'm pretty sure MS will work with Square to get this done.

In a perfect world, Tokyo Vikings announce something, Mistwalker announces LO2 and Square/MS announce XIV all at TGS! Of course I may be asking for too much.

doubt that since FFXI was equally popular worldwide - considering that console sales in japan are bad SE would definitely release 360 version of FFXIV in US and Europe. my guess is that FFXIV will be exclusive for 2010...in japan, but will be released on ps3 and 360 on the same day in 2011.

 

either way i'm still more hyped for APB.

The reality i believe is they probably want less of a workload when the thing launches, because it will probably be full of bugs at launch, and dealing with a 3rd version is only going to hamper the speed at which they can make updates. They probably did secure an exclusivity agreement with sony too, why wouldn't they, for obvious reasons - less final fantasy fan base on 360, not everyone has enough room on hdd or a hdd at all, and paying xbox live fees and this makes it less appealing. They did mention it was microsoft's network policy, which i would assume means Microsoft was trying to take more of a cut on subscription fees by forcing it through xbox live, they may have let the fees slide on FFXI because apparently they paid for the port for it to the 360, but didn't want to this time around.

I do think they are planning on launching it simotaneously worldwide this time around, one of the main complaints of FFXI when it launched was the separation of the Japanese players being much higher level than the NA players.
