I really don't like how the PS logo is now completely white

I thought it would have been smaller. At least what matters most - the price is smaller (at least smaller than I thought it would have been).

I would get one but I have been meaning to try out that "install another OS" thingy on the fat and I gathered that the slim don't have that feature. Maybe Sony found out not that many used it.

So until I get around to having a play with that feature on the fatboy then slim will have to wait.

Anyone here ever install another OS on the fat? Which OS was it?

I think the data on the hard drive will be erased or something when you remove it from the console though.

no - only when you put it into another PS3.

Each PS3 encrypts it's hdd with its own system specific key - one of the reasons PS3 is so tricky to hack

Backup your info to a external drive first, then restore to your new system.

Unfortunately some of your save games won't survive the journey if they're set as un-copyable by the devs of the game

Cheaper PS3 is what consumers wanted and it is what you now have. Sony has delivered in more ways than one. It will increase weekly sales of the PS3 significantly. No one cares about what the PS3 looks like? $299 is a much better price point - that is the bottom line.

How could they hate the old touchpad buttons ? noone hates those..

the touchpad is cool... but if it cost extra then i didn't really need it that much.

i still wish it was piano black, but if im able to save up for it then i'd love another one for the other tv.
