You know, I had forgotten all about Valkyria Chronicles. I'm in the same boat as you, OP. After I get Batman, VC is next!!!!

I haven't played it, but the universal praise that this game has received and the fact that you're interested in the genre at all tells me that you'd enjoy it, too!

I would go with Valkyria Chronicles first if you like single player games. It is the vastly superior single player experience. If you enjoy a lot of online games, then go with KZ2 first.

As for LBP, you should be able to pick it up for $20 and is worth it if you like platformers at all. (note, there is a GOY version or something like that that has all the downloadable content, but if you are iffy on if you want it, just get the older version for cheaper)

Get Valkyria Chronicles first. Oh and you kids will love Little Big Planet! So I recommend that as well.

Neither demos do the games justice. I haven't actually played VC, but the demo turned me off big time. But from what I've heard, it's a great game. KZ2 demo was nice to look at because there's a lot of bombs going off and stuff, but it's kind of boring and lacks direction, IMO.

All in all, KZ2's single player gets rather boring after awhile. People LOVE its online play, but I couldn't get into it at all. I tried forcing myself to play it online to see if I could get a hang of it, but it just wasn't there.

I've heard good things about VC, but I don't think it's the game for me. If you like the demo, or if you like what you've heard about it, then I'd say go for that on first.

Hmmm. I haven't had a chance to play the demo yet for VC, but think for $40 I'm going to pick it up anyway.

@nordlead; I really dig MP games, but mostly because I have a pretty solid group of on-line friends on Live. My PSN friends list is zero members long right now, and I don't even have a headset yet. MP will happen (especially if the game is as good as I hear), it's just a little further down the road.

If you just want an opinion, VC. It's a fun game and I'm an RPG fan. KZ2 is not a very good game single player, just slightly better than my least favorite FPS this gen F.E.A.R. Although I hear that a lot of people are enjoying the multi. I would get Resistance over Killzone 10 times out of 10.

Killzone 2

Well my opninion is that Killzone 2 is one of the worst shooters on the PS3..

So that's why you should go for Valyria..well it's only my opinion...a lot of people hate me now because i really DON'T like Killzone 2...ghe ghe

In that case I either recommend getting VC, or joining the VGChartz Killzone 2 Clan (which sadly I can't play because I hurt my hand)

Both are excellent games so it depends on what you're looking for. If you want an awesome single player experience, go with VC. If you want multiplayer gameplay or just a game that can hold you up for a LONG time, definitely go with KZ2 (this is assuming you've played the demo and realized that it isn't cod4 because the last thing the kz2 community needs is another whiner)
