I think there was a report sometime ago that companies in China have recieved orders for producing 1 Million consoles per month. so if they have started the production in July than by 1st September they should have over a 2 million unit ready to move to shops. and i think they will have spare capacity of moving this production to over 1.5 million per month if the demand is good. Its good that they have introduced the price cut in September so going into the holiday season they will have a very good estimate of the new PS3 slim demand and could be able to meet it easily.

Nope, that's not true. it sold here for around 4500kr at gamestop if I remember correctly, or perhaps it was 4400kr, whatever.
When slim comes they said it'll be around 3300 - 3500kr.

I've only checked webhallen.com and spelbutiken.se and those have the PS3 slim at 3789kr (webhallen) and 3649kr (spelbutiken)

Webhallen currently has the 80Gb PS3 at 3789kr (My sister bought her PS3 for 3900-4000kr a couple of months ago from webhallen) and they have the 80Gb PS3 Killzone 2 bundle at 4195kr.

There is a price drop but I expected a price drop of 1000kr...

Well, that's really odd, since Gamestop will be cheaper then when slim is sold at retail. And usually Webhallen and Spelbutiken is even cheaper. I bet Webhallen and Spelbutiken will reduce their prices when it's even lower in retail, they just wanna squueze out as much money they can I guess, since at the moment it appeals to be much lesser price than retail. Because Gamestop haven't reduced their price yet.

How many people?  Any person with a job, pretty much.  $300 is realistically not a lot of money.

I bought my ps3 from spelbutiken for 3949kr November 2008, so the current prices efter the price cut really sucks. I think that the prices will go down but not as much as the other countries. Webhallen blamed their prices on Nordic Film the ps3 retailer of Sweden. They said that they are following their prices.

You know that weird feeling in your gut you get like when you're on a roller coaster? I have that feeling right now.

How many people will be willing to pay $300 for a console? Well, 50 million were willing to pay $249 for a console, so...

^not just that. 23 million were willing to pay for a PS3 when it was 400 +, and IIRC the 360 sold 10 million or so at a 400 as well, so I would say alot of people.
