Forums - General - Why is everyone so quick to call OBAMA a bad president?

You can't judge a President after 6 months, you can't i am sorry. And, it's mostly people crying because he's changing things, but isn't it what he said he was going to do.
I am not making a decision yet, but it takes more than just him to get this country in the right path, but i feel so many want him fail, its going to be very hard.

Of course you can judge a president after 6 months.

You can't judge an entire presidency in 6 months but you can certainly judge what has been done thus far.

This is just the fallacious argument being pushed to avoid having to address the dismal job that has been done thus far - you think if things were going well and everyone was saying "WOW - Obama is doing FANTASTIC!" that you would be saying "hey hey now, you can't judge a President after only 6 months!". No, people would be singing his praises rather than declaring it "too soon to tell".

Like all judgements and assessments people should certainly keep their views open to new information but there is absolutely no reason you cannot judge what has gone on thus far.

Here's a better question:

Why were the news stories of the past about "President Clinton" and "President Bush" yet the ones we read today about "Mr. Obama?"

Obama dared to suggest ideas that aren't Uber Capitalism, so the idiots decided that made him a Socialist, they then decided that Socialism must always be Communism, they then decided that there misconceptions mean that Obama was evil scum, they then decided to make many threads complaining about every little thing Obama says or does, they then decided this wasn't enough hate, they decided to start inventing comparisons between him and other "evil communist dictators"

does that about cover it?

now, that said, im not a big Obama fan myself, my own views are well to the left of his socially and I have more socialist tendencies than he does, though, im in the UK, so things are different here.

edit: the thread asked a question, I gave an answer...yet no doubt I will get flamed for it...sad really

so, the only way many people here will be happy, is if EVERYONE on the site puts this in there sig:

Obama is an evil socialist who hates america and wants to destroy it

am I right?

That rhetoric is out there but you're being disengenous to say that the majority of opposition to Obama believes he is a full blown socialist who deliberately wants to destroy the country.  Granted the people who do believe it are vocal but given that this is what they believe I can't say I'm surprised by their sense of urgency, as misguided as it may be.  In fact it reminds me of the left when Bush was in office quite a bit.

My main point in replying to you is that you should be careful not to lump substantive disagreements with Obama in with what is a minority alarmist view of Obama.  There are plenty of reasons to believe Obama has done just awful thus far without having to believe he is intentionally sabotaging the nation or even a full blown socialist.

I'd say that people are quick to label Obama a bad president because so many were quick to label him as savior of America.

He promised so much, and has delivered almost nothing positive for the nation since he's been president. Now, I will not judge his entire presidency on this, but he's kind of like the 2008 Ohio State Buckeye football team: loaded with promised, and assured to be a great fit, while totally imploding at your first major chance (OSU-USC game).

And for the 'bad' remarks:

Dropping from a +40 margin to a +10 in 7 months is not a positive sign for America's trust in BHO as our POTUS.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I know that, but the fact there so vocal makes it seem otherwise, which I assume is why this thread was made, Im merely pointing out the fact that people are being dumb in some of the stuff some of them say about Obama.

like i said, i myself dont think much of some of Obama's ideas, but i dont compare him to dictators or communists either, as i know to do so would be stupid.

Now I'm not racist or anything but I think alot of his hype came from him being black, alot people (including me) wanted to see a black president I think alot of people are turning the other cheek about all the bad stuff Obama has been doing because they "want" him to be a good president and can't accept the fact he's not doing all to good.

The PS3, it only dose EVERYTHING....Except play good games :P

I think when things arent going well they need a scapegoat, the republicans have done a good job of making Obama that scapegoat. Also he is trying to hard to be bipartisan, i say FUCK the republicans and use your majority in the house and senate to pass anything you want. He could spend more time tending to his democrats then dealing with republicans who frankly will be against anything obama tries to undertake.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

jace..... I don't think there are enough democrats to say fuck the republicans first of all. secondly... the situation you are describing fits perfectly with the dems using bush as a scapegoat when they voted for the war and voted to keep financing it... also, from what I gather... he hasn't put forth any ideas himself yet... so... how do you plan on him spending more time with dems with his bills when there is no such thing?

And I can guarantee Illinois next Senate member will be republican after this blago/burris bullshit.
