Yeah I don't see Sony basing it's world-wide GT5 release strategy around the planned release of FF XIII in Japan. They will base the GT5 release strategy around when GT5 is ready to release. I'm quite sure (once they knew they couldn't make holiday '08) that they aimed for holiday '09. The reason they may miss holiday '09 is if the game isn't ready yet, and that's the ONLY reason they would miss holiday '09; IMO.

I'm thinking November 10th anniversary of GT2 and fifth anniversary of GT4.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again that I'm thinking a GT5 release a week before US Thanksgiving (about the 18th Nov), at least in the US and Japan.
