I just did a playthrough of the Mini Ninjas demo and was quite impressed.
Gameplay: The gameplay was really rich from what i saw, and from what the full game might give you. Alot of RPG elements, platform and action. Also alot of strategy where you as a ninja can use the acient ninja powers to control and become different animals etc. You can also use stealth with the L2 (PS3) by crawling around in the grass making you invisible to the enemies. You can cast spells, throw smokebombs to make enemies lose track of you and in the demo you could throw ninja stars to stun enemies.
You can quickly change between three characters, one being a regular ninja with all that comes with being one. The second one was a heavy dude with a big wooden hammer thingy that was recomended for taking down a bigger samurai "boss". And a third character which was a female Michelangelo (TMNT), which i didnt play too much but she had nunchucks.
Theres alot of ways to equip your character with smokebombs, KI enhanced potions, Healing potions, weapons, spells and more. A rich inventory and a lot of stuff to find and combine to make sure you have all the tools you need for different types of scenarios.

Story: The story seemed okay aswell. Nice cartoony story scenes that tells the backstory of your character and the surroundings. Some foreign samurais have started to burn down villages and kidnapp animals and taking them further into the forest, for some unknown reason. The demo dosent reveal much more than that, but it feels solid for a game like this.
...
It caught me by surprise, i found the first trailer somewhat intriguing but didn't expect much. But after one playthrough i saw that there is alot more to the game than just some hack and slash cartoon game ala Kung Fu Panda or whatnot.
Have you tried it? What did you think?
Is this a download only game or disc based?
Enjoy.
