If true then I believe they want to make sure PS3 and prospective PS3 owners who either haven't played GoW games before, or those who would want the ability to play through all 3, can get access to all titles on PS3.

It's interesting because it imples they are going to put a lot of weight behind GoW3 on PS3 and believe they can use reputation of previous games to broaden potential audience for 3 but are worried that some won't want to play 3 if they haven't played 1 & 2.

I wonder if they're right though, GoW games sell very well but not super big next to the 4 to 5M plus titles. Can they make GoW3 a huge seller on PS3? And would having the previous installments on the platform help?

Yeah it would be great to play Gow 1 and 2 then finsih the story with 3. And it would be first Collector´s edition this gen.

I how they do some graphical upscaling. Not just ports. Either way though. This isn't exactly what was asked in that survey I took. I wanted the first 2 games to be upscaled and released on Blu-Ray with God of War III in March.

I haven't bought any collectors editions this generation myself. Last one I bought was the PS2 collectors edition of FFXII.

Oh I take that back as I got the Prince of Persia collectors edition by default but it wasn't any more costly. Free upgrade for my amazon pre-order.

Usually I don't buy them because I never really use the extras or I'll watch the bonus DVD one time.
