I came, I watched, I conquered. I have had a Netflix subscription for forty months. A three at a time no limit subscription no less. In that time I have watched over 1000 DVDs through the service. That would be an average of six DVDs per week. I got them I watched them they were out in the mail the next day. Sadly today I finally conceded the point that I had actually seen everything I wanted to see, and I wasn't going to get any more out of the service.Today I finally cancelled my subscription.
I subscribed to the service initially to satiate no to drown myself in Anime, and after picking that corpse clean of all that I could consume. I then went on to television series, and even throwbacks to movies I just felt a mild nostalgia for. Now I am actually more then full. In fact it no longer can even interest me. I used to wait on the movies. Lately I could hardly summon the will to get them to the mailbox before the postman came.
I do not hate the service mind you. I think it is a fantastic service. I really got more for my dollar that any other subscription service I have used in my life. In fact this is probably the longest subscription I have ever had to anything. I just never thought I could actually exhaust something utterly. To actually get every last ounce of enjoyment out of something.
Anyway it raises a interesting question for the 360 communitythat uses Netflix. My taste was vast, and yet it finally succumbed. I mean I mined a genre to death. How fare other subscribers. Where are you gauging your use of the service. How far along do you think you are. Do you see yourself exhausting the service for your needs, or are you more lets call it casual. Are there others who have already exhausted their use of the service.
