awesome graphics.

^^ Yeah i agree its disappointing that all cars dont have damage. But it doesnt bother me to much as GT never had cosmetic damage to begin with and was fine the way it is. Its had mechanical damage and from people who have had a hands-on with the GT5 demo there is some mechanical damage in the arcade mode demo. But its limited probably due to it being on standard physics.

Until i get the game in my PS3 and play it we all really cant say more on how it will play. Eitherway damage or not its still the best racing game on the PS3.

I've noticed people saying this a lot that it doesn't seem like damage affects gameplay but in the damage video about 14 seconds in when the car is coming towards the screen you see the car shaking back and forth so it seems damage does affect it.

I looked over it some more and you can see the dents in it and scratches in it and the car is shaking back and forth once the driver is on a straight away. So it seems that your driving will be affected. But one thing is that the windows and headlights should bust too. But they may not have it ready yet.

Yeah its a shame that in that demo none of the lights (front and back) smashed or even any of the windows on the car broke. We will know more at TGS. The game is looking fantastic though. Graphics are improved from GT5 Prologue.

GC 2009: Kazunori Confirms GT Details

Damage models, Porsche and more.

August 19, 2009 - Gamescom 2009 is in full swing here in Cologne and the news/previews are already streaming in. We already delivered our first introductory hands-on of Gran Turismo 5 earlier today, but we had the opportunity to sit down with Kazunori Yamauchi following my hands-on time and ask a few follow-up questions to address the recent speculation that has revolved around this renowned racing simulation franchise. We'll have more from our interview soon, but there were a few important tidbits that GT fans might want right away.

First off, Kazunori confirmed that not all the cars in Gran Turismo 5 will have damage models -- only select sets of cars will feature damage support. No official word yet on what those car sets are, but hopefully we'll have more on that soon.

Speaking of cars, Kazunori wasn't willing to let the total number of cars slip just yet
, but there were a few other points of interest to hold us over. First, Porsche will very likely not appear in Gran Turismo 5. Kazunori was disappointed by this fact, but according to our interview, Porsche already signed an exclusive deal for a different game and it's highly unlikely the brand will appear in Polyphony Digital's upcoming hit. Perhaps Porsche will show up in a future GT title.

As for the rumors regarding possible track creation, Kazunori noted that "[Polyphony Digital] hasn't really thought about it." So it sounds like track creation for Gran Turismo 5 was just a rumor after all.

Lastly, Kazunori commented that downloadable content for Gran Turismo 5 is a definite possibility, but once again there were few details to discuss.

so there is NO DAMAGE after all - probably only those 170 cars will have one, but those 830 normal cars and 170 damagable cars aren't confirmed either. also looks like Forza 3 will have porsche cars as exclusive.

Yeah i read that article. Was nice having some light shed on GT from Kazunori himself. Only thing that was confirmed is "not all the cars will have damage" so we dont know if only 1 car will have damage or 600 cars will have damage. Only that not all will have damage. So it still leaves us wondering. Maybe all cars but Ferrari have damage.. lol

My thoughts are only Nascar and Rally will feature damage which is fine by me.

As for Porsche is only time will tell if they add them. Kazunori doesnt say they are not in GT, he only says he is disappointed. Everyone is just speculating on what its got and what it doesnt have. Until TGS we will know for sure and you can start your condemnation parade on it then.

I couldn't give a crap about current Porsches but I really wanted the old Le Mans Prototypes. Darn...

I'm sure RUF will be included like always.

Porsche + damage on all, make forza a better game. k

I know that you dont know GT series have RUF (search google)

And what forza3 has 400 cars? Thats 400 - 170 = 230 more with damage

When the complete car list of GT5 releases pls come back to troll again
