Forums - General - Woman yells ‘Heil Hitler’ to Jewish man praising Israel’s healthcare

So sad ...

Conservatives have strenuously denied that there is any anti-Semitism on display by anti-health reform protesters at town hall meetings nationwide — despite all the evidence to the contrary. Last week, Las Vegas radio station KDWN AM720 sponsored a “contentious” town hall, emceed by conservative morning show host Heidi Harris. At the event, local news stations were interviewing an Israeli man who was praising the “fantastic” “national health care” in Israel. During his remarks, a woman yelled out, “Heil Hitler!” The man stopped, became visibly upset, and exclaimed, “Did you hear this? She say to a Jew, ‘Heil Hitler’! Hear? I’m a Jew! You’re telling me, ‘Heil Hitler’? Shame of you!” After he angrily confronts her, the woman mocks him by making a crying sound to imply he is a whining baby. Watch it:

Wow.

I don't really know what to say here. "Appalling" doesn't seem to quite cover it.

Well that woman is a bitch. Doesn't say anything about the actual debate whether the healthcare is right or wrong though really.

I give it five posts before this topic goes in that direction anyway.

Oh I got a good one, how about this:

Does being Anti-Semitic (or racist in general) make your opinion less relevant?

While I know nothing of this incident, years ago there was a group of college students (I believe) who dressed up as clan members to support George W. Bush as a way of protesting Bush ... Since then I have had a natural scepticism of overt-racism when it shows up in support of conservative causes because it is easy enough for someone to pretend to support a cause while doing things to undermine it.

Unfortunately the conservative movement has a strong vocal minority that is both bigoted and very racist. Usually it gets white washed by the leadership as merely political incorrectness, or as simply a case of propaganda against the movement. Sadly it is like the more responsible members cannot accept that its there so they avert their gaze. Which doesn't actually help the problem at all. Which is these people are the ones driving away minority voters, and causing the movement to become more and more insulated.

Honestly it isn't as if someone really needs to fabricate stunts like these either. I can sadly say that after the presidential election the next day in fact. I was driving my car to work, and turned on the radio only to catch a conservative radio show host laughing about a song he was about to play. Yeah there is nothing like hearing a country song where they say that America just hired a coon. He didn't even seem to understand how utterly grotesque this really was.

So I can believe this, and I will say this. Where there is smoke there is indeed a fire. I really wish it weren't the case. I hate the notion that one of the political parties is giving a pulpit to these low grade industrial waste people, but as long as they get the wink and nod it is going to happen. Especially when this movements politicians show up on programs that encourage this kind of crap.

Beyond that this women is one sick fuck either way. Spoof or honest it is still utterly despicable.

Racism exists in all communities and manifests itself in different ways but there are still two things that bother me about this incident ... That it is a person openly being a racist on a level that most ignorant and unintelligent people would know would harm their cause (and have personal consequences); and that this is the second incident of overt racism that follows the Democrat's spin that these protests were racist even though there was no evidence to support those claims.

Could this be a coincidence that an ignorant racist person just happened to have verbal diarrhoea at a very public setting? Certainly, but it is also remarkably convenient that this incident matches the spin the democrats are trying to put on these protests at a time when they desperately need to gain some ground in this debate.

I'm somewhat amazed at the amount of spin you can field. You must use your wrists a lot, because I always end up hitting it straight.
