Forums - Gaming Discussion - Toys R Us sale (This is a good one)

Normally I don't plug Toys R Us sales (I'm just a low level employee, and have essentially 0 loyalty to the company, as I have no plans whatsoever to stay there long term), but this one is good enough to mention to everyone: buy 2 get 1 free sale. We have it once a year, and it really is an awesome sale.

Any games, no exceptions. Buy 2, get 1 free. Starts this sunday (14th) ends next saturday (20th). Gogo!

Oh yes, I also heard that Toys R Us is getting crushed by Wal Mart. But that's not important. What's important is that they have awesome sales!

Hell, if the Toys R Us near me didn't close, I'd go there all the time!

The one buy me is still open. Too bad I decided to buy Heavenly Sword last Sunday instead of waiting a bit longer. :(

It really is a great game, btw. The cutscenes are awesome. I can't comment on the length, though, as I'm only an hour or so into it.

Positively pulverized, actually. You should see the upper management structure in this company: it's hilariously uncoordinated.

But honestly, does anyone really care? I totally agree it's sad when Wal Mart crushes the small, quaint, culturally relevant mom and pop shops, but the Toys R Us? Toys R Us is just... a shitty Wal Mart, as far as I can tell. It's another giant, soul less corporation -- except it's prices usually aren't as good and its selection is narrower.

Ahhh. So it is happening. That's totally going to get me to buy games when i wasn't planning to. Now to make sure it's being offered in my area.

So... buy two cheap games, and get one expensive one for free? Or get the cheapest of the three for free?

Sounds cool - wonder if they will have this in Ozland :)

Gotta be cheapest for free. Likely how they program it into the regsiters.

If only SMG or Uncharted were coming out next week. :(

For those wondering: this offer is valid everywhere in the US, at least. Perhaps other countries as well.

Also, whichever game is cheapest is free. It's the only "trick" this sale has: you can't buy two bargain bin GBA games for 10 bucks and then buy Heavenly Sword for free. However, everything else really is unrestricted: you can mix and match your systems. You can buy as many as you want. You can take advantage of other sales, too. There are no games excluded, even Guitar Hero. No catches, nothing. Really quite a good sale.

Not that I'm remotely suggesting that you should do this, because it's highly unethical, but you could theoretically buy two games as placeholders (one 50 dollar Wii game, on 60 dollar PS3 game), then return them (unopened) when Uncharted/SMG come out.

Again, theoretically. If you were unethical.
