I took it he lived for ages after faking his death, had kids, etc.  What I thought seemed murky was the order of events around there.  Why did he found the colony?  Was that before he understood the curse?  Then wouldn't UK have known about it?

The game seems to imply there was a period he backed colony creation, found out about curse, faked his death, then lived for a while - but doing what?  If figting creatures then it seems unlikley he had time to settle down with kids, etc.

For that matter, how they heck did any decendants, which should have started life on island, get off if he sank all ships, prevented anyone leaving, etc?
