Forums - Microsoft - Mass Effect 1 vs Mass Effect 2 - screenshots comparison

Both Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2 look fantastic. I don't understand how Uncharted got bought in a discussion involving a comparison of Mass Effect 1 and 2.

OT some of the comparison pics posted are comparing ME to ME. in Mass Effect 2 isn't Wrex wearing white space armor?

The comparison of the ships, is the second pic (ME2) The Normandy?

most of the improvements are kinda textures things.
like R1--> R2.
thats why it's not that noticeable.

@selnor, in uncharted 2 detail it's king, seriously nathan drake even gets wet, and texture work in gears 2 it's second to none.

killzone 2 main focus in not their characters but the enviroments. and characters are simple mainy due 32 player matches.

Uncharted has great character models. But Mass Effect 2 character models are seriously detailed. See Thane here. Look at the textures.

U said mass effect one. NOT two.

look at the hair, the eyes, the lips, hell they are even "wet" and sweaty

and don't make bring gears!, cuz i have the pc version =)

The effects are great. But the actual character models are not as good. The texture work is less resolution and theres no pores or anything in the skin. Even Mass Effect 1 beats it. Check this out. ME1.

In Game ME1: Look at the texture work. It's 2nd to none on character models.

they are small on the lips of elena, and humans are not reptiles they don't need tons of scales in their bodies, by contrast uncharted have also one of the best characters animations in the market, but the work in the Eyes, hair , dirt, sweat, in their face it's certainly impressive.

uncharted have eve more impressive enviroments.

you like textures, then look at Gears 2, or LittleBigPlanet.

That "wet and sweaty" is simply increasing reflection. The "dirt" is adding some low texture browinish feature on the skin texture. The skin is very bland and like it has been said before, it has no pores or anything like that. You said humans don't need scales blah blah, but look at this pic of shepard.. It shows a lot more detail on the face

Or this one:

hmm you never played uncharted right?, they get wet just what they touch in water, not more, same for dirt.

Thats not character models, thats effect. There is a big difference. Only Crysis beats Mass Effect and Gears 2 for character models.
