Insomniac has been with Sony since the very beginning, of course they're going to stay.

Yes publishers are responsible for getting the games out to the public. What are you getting at here

wait a second geddesmond2 are you saying since Insomniac is independent they don't get funding for their games and they use their own money to make them. I don't think i understand. Insomniac is independent and by being so needs funding and Sony helps fund them making them a 2nd party because they always had a good relationship with Sony because Sony likes what they do and Sony gives them money to do what they do.
So then Sony funds them to make their awsome games and then publishes them, then distributes them and then advertises them (hopefully). Sony funds Insomniac in that way. Yes, Insomniac gets money from their games as well because it was their creation. But every developer espeically independent need someone to help fund them. That's why when games are in the beginning stages companies shop their ideas out to other places like EA, Ubisoft, Sony, MS, etc... they need someone to fund their project so they can make it. Insomniac and Sony have a good relationship so they always go to Sony and Sony is always happy to fund them that is how they get their games made and that's why they don't want to go anywhere else.
For example. Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream is basically a 3rd party but is becoming 2nd party in a way because Sony is seeing that they have a good game one their hands. So Sony went in and are helping Quantic Dream with money (and development resources) Quantic Dream even said Sony is helping them in that way. i don't know where the source is but i remember it. Sony takes an interest in a game and then the fund it that's how it works. Do you think Sony only loses money on the PS3. They have to use money to make video games.

LOL... yes. They do a lot more. |
I'd like to remind you that not all the time publishers fund a project. Just because Sony published the games and own the rights doesn't mean they funded them. Now what I'm saying here is usually when someones independant, it means they've done something without any help so to speak and why would a company thats sold over 30 million games worldwide need funding on games that probably had a 20m budget. As a company Insomniac would make more money if they funded the game themselfs and I really doubt they needed the funding .
OMG....I can't believe it....OMG....WTF...OMG...they aren' going multi-plat....OMG....
Oh, sorry, this isn't Valve, and I'm not a nut about my platform of choice...great for them....glad to see the $$$ works to make it a smart decision.

As a big Insomniac fan (60 % of the PS1 games I bought are from them), I demand them to make their games also for the Wii. They would be stupid to leave out 52 million potential customers. |
What, like THQ tried with Deadly Creatures?
I understand Ps3 fans demanding games from Valve but I don't see any Wii fans demanding such things since they would need to demand from almost half of business.
Take my love, take my land..
