Forums - Gaming - A post I made on Kotaku just now

As long as freedom of speech is allowed, without offending people too hard, I don't see any harm or any reason to be upset about. Welcome to the world of the Internet, welcome to the world of people, we are people and we like to whine :P

@Dartdevidem, you're whining about people who're whining, in any case, you're not a single hair better :P

I like reading Kotaku because they generally get stories up pretty quick but I just ignore the user comments. They are better than places like Digg but not by much. As usual, you have a good way with words John Lucas.

Well the same thing happens to the Ps3 on this site

Constant whining on any decisions SONY takes

they put rumble in - WHINE

Price cut - WHINE

.......

and so on....

If you think that's why people are irritated at Sony, you're not paying attention.

And I hate to become Schoolmarm here but it's spelled "dearth", not "dirth".

I have to ask.... why was 'chine' capitalised in ma-CHINE?

Great little post, though it will have zero effect on the Kotaku fans.

Reminds me of the quartly fiasco we get with Sony fans and sales info.

Vocal emphasis. To accent.

I don't know if you watch pro wrestling but there's an announcer called Jim Ross, Good Ol' J.R., who always says this when this near 7 foot wrestler (from hell) named Kane comes out.

"BAH GAWD! It's the big red ma-CHINE! KANE!"

The "sheen" is supposed to be extra stressed to let you know how important the machine is.

Ask madskillz about it. He'll tell you.

P.S.: Yeah I know those were wasted words. But I had to get it off of my chest.

Most consoles have a dirth of games early on, but in the future I think people will look back on the lineup and feel it was very good. Wii Sports is the game of the generation, Zelda was a perfect "hardcore" counterpart, WarioWare and Super Paper Mario were excellent iterations in their franchises, Metroid Prime 3 may become a landmark game, Wii Play and Mario Party 8 were panned but too popular not to mention, third party games like Rayman Raving Rabbids and Trauma Center were inventive and fun, and Super Mario Galaxy, which should be mind-blowing, marks the one year mark.

Those whiners on Kotaku will be long gone. They'll be like the folks who claimed GTA and Halo would never last. "Those violent games are shallow, and can never be as popular as Mario and Zelda and Donkey Kong, doncha know!" Where are they now?

Thanks for linking to those posts, JL. Little bits of sheer optimism among endless mindless bitching is always fun to read.

Yeah I remember the 1st GTA on PS1. That was FUN! I thought it was an ingenious idea. No surprise it grew to be such a franchise. And you know hardly no one's more of a Nintendo-head than me.

Too much internet not enough real socialization causes those kinds of attitudes, I gather.
