I think the ads are pretty clever, but judging by the reactions on the news article, it may be a bit too clever. There are quite a lot of people who seem to miss the point or don't want to see it ;-(

exactly what i think of this too. I also add that campaigns like this are always showing up sometime trying to increase the visibility of the LGBT people. So if this was a failure i'm sure others can show with another perspective.

@ice cream van, most parents will not alow their children go alone to buy icecream there

I don't know, it's just an expression, like "retard".
I don't see anyone complaining that it offends mentally challenged people...
Or what about "Jesus ****ing Christ", Holy s***", or Godd*** that is surely sounds offensive for christians...

People just say things, even whe they don't really think about the original subject of the word.

I think this would make kids want to say it more, because you told them not to. If my mom tells me to clean my room or take out the trash, I don't feel like doing it. If I do it on my own, without someone telling me, I feel good about it.

As for Wanda, them be some fighting words. I would have rocked her in her face, because the way she says things (acts) is annoying.

If they would have made it more sympathizing, lots of people would have listened. For example, boy walks by and other boys say "thats so gay". Boy walking by puts head down as he walks by with a sad face. Boy goes into the bathroom at his house. looks in the mirror, wondering whats wrong with him. camera pans down to his hands. he has a razor blade. screen says "words hurt". END

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

@Alterego-X, yes those are offensive to christians (i think). They have all the reasons to do campaigns and protest but for some reason they don't do it, it's their choise.

most people don't say the expression retard in front of mentally challenged people (at least the visible ones) because is offensive, but homossexuals are not as much visible.

I don't use the term derrogatively but there are certain things that I do ascribe to the gay community and consider it "gay". I'm not talking canal pride type gay (I should really post the pictures I made sometime soon) but rather... well, my neighbour below is gay and when I see him sitting with some friends gossipping like old wives, drinking wine and discussing fitness-tactics I will consider it quite gay.

On the other hand, my neighbour will insult fags with exactly that term. Kinda like how Defoe slaps that boy for wanting to cuddle in "Boondock Saints".

I'd rather hear 'gay' than THAT word !

Quite possibly as offensive as the "N" word.

I just want to state that I never use that term myself but I find it funny how the gay community goes about these derogatory phrases

I couldn't care less if people call something "gay" or use the word "raped" after beating someone in a video game. They're just words.

In the title of a thread designed to increase awareness of gay people's rights, you insult dumb people?

Right...

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I don't think any words are inherently negative.

They are just s series of sounds that emit from people's mouths.

I think that it's the intent behind the words that makes them negative.

We'll miss you George.

Don't worry Esmoreit, I knew you quoted your neighbour. I just meant to say I hate that word in general... Like I also REALLY hate the way a lot of fellow Dutchmen use a disease to say something really negative (you know what I mean right?).

I have more video games than friends. I mean damn i have like 80 games..
