It's ok for gays to use the gay word, just like it is ok for black people to call eachother the N word.

I think the ads are pretty clever, but judging by the reactions on the news article, it may be a bit too clever. There are quite a lot of people who seem to miss the point or don't want to see it ;-(

I don't use the term derrogatively but there are certain things that I do ascribe to the gay community and consider it "gay". I'm not talking canal pride type gay (I should really post the pictures I made sometime soon) but rather... well, my neighbour below is gay and when I see him sitting with some friends gossipping like old wives, drinking wine and discussing fitness-tactics I will consider it quite gay.

On the other hand, my neighbour will insult fags with exactly that term. Kinda like how Defoe slaps that boy for wanting to cuddle in "Boondock Saints".

I'd rather hear 'gay' than THAT word !
