So far they seem to be confined to kids and horror films. I think some of the hollywood blockbusters will start to embrace it but I doubt it will be seen in anything that actually involves a plot and character development (you would just lose any sense of immersion). James Cameron's 'Avatar' will be a big test as to how big budget films could fair in 3D.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't rate IMAX? I went to see Star Trek and I couldn't tell what was going on. During the action sequences the screen is far too big and I couldn't see it all without turning my head from side to side.
