This. It's probably not the best idea to expect all the ps2 games you wanted to appear on PSN.  I don't care about that though, I have 95% of the ps2 games I want to keep for life. Now if I still had a way to play them when ps2 expires next year....Thats what I care about.

They need to make a PSP emulator for the PS3.
Would make Download only games for PSP more profitable.

Then it'll be great with PS1, PS2, PSN, PS3 and PSP download games all playable on the PS3.

with the recent sales figure for PS2 , i would imagine they wouldn't want to do anything to cannibalize the ps2 sales.

There are three problems with PS2 BC though; no memory card slot so I can't access old saves, paying for PS2 games again (if you cant insert your old discs - hint Sony, let people play what they've paid for already), and last but not least, most PS2 classics have been 'replaced', for want of a better word, with sequels. Okami? Get it on Wii. GT4? Get GT5. We <3 Katamari? There's a PS3 version out soon... etc etc etc.

u can, there is a USB-memory convertor, can copy the memory card into the ps3, virtual ps2 memory card.

if emulation comes to ps3 it will read disc, at must u would have to install them or emulator will patch some things.

and remenber some games are classic, games like FFX would be huge on the PSN.

Trouble with this theoretical nonsense is that the "Emotion Engine" is the name of the CPU in the PS2 and NOT the graphics card. The "Emotion Engine" is already emulated well enough in some PS3 models (The stripped down ones that have BC support but not perfect BC support like the original ones released in the US\Japan).

So it means nothing. People just don't do their homework it seems.

Even if it doesn't come now I believe that Sony's initiative towards DD means it will be happening. It's simply a matter of when.

Guys your looking at this the wrong way. If this is true then in order to even play a DD copy of a PS2 game you're going to need a Software emulator of some kind on the hardwares that cant originally do it. My guess is if this is true then Sony will be making PS3 re-b/c again.

Not in JP and HK, but EU and US is lacking behind a bit on PS1 releases, but still we've gotten FFVII, MGS, Wild Arms 2, Resident Evil, all in the past 2 months and we're definitely getting RE2/3, Dino Crisis1 and 2, BoF III and IV, and so on within the next few months, getting better

That's never gonna happen, Sony wants to sell you PSPs, the best you can hope for is to be able to connect your PSP to your PS3 and be able to play that on the big screen.
