The only problem with this 5 pounds more is that most games launch at 40 pounds and some 30. a few go to 45 but thats about it.
So really in the real World COD MW2 is going to be more like 15 pounds more expensive

which means in here its going to be something along the lines of $80-$90

jeez.

Are games in UK region locked from the US?

For the 360 they are, PS3 is region free.

Actually its up to the developer/publisher. For example Ghostbusters was region free for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

What? Really? I thought it had to do with the physical medium... but you seem more knowledgeable than me... unless the US and UK shared the same region code in DVDs in the first place.

^ Nope, NTSC vs PAL. Its generally up to the publisher. Microsoft doesn't really have any stake in it, they get their royalties either way.

For example, no developer can mandate an install for the Xbox 360 and yet a developer can choose to or not to have one for the PS3.

??? I'm confused. If they could do that, why didn't DVDs companies make their DVDs region code free? Why can't Blurays be played anywhere???

Im not sure, its probably to do with them offering the movies at different prices in different regions. It prevents someone from say buying 1000 DVDs in Malaysia for $10 and selling them in the U.S. for $20 for example and trust me, some retail shops would do just that.

In the case for games it doesn't really matter so much as they are roughly the same price everywhere. Its not something which Microsoft dictates anyway... If theres a region lock its the publishers decsion.

Becouse game companies are gready assholes who don't want you to be able to buy $30 movie when they sell same one to you for 30 euros.

I assume this is mostly UK gamers... who are still getting games cheaper than other Europeans.

They say RRP of £55 but in reality those games will probably cost £45 at launch at virtually all retailers... that's 53 €, while in most European stores the same game will cost 60 €.

People from the UK... your currency collapsed. Deal with it.

NO the GBP is fine, people were always jealous of it! Our country used to rule 3/4ths of the world 200 years ago never forget that!
