I am proud of the might that was the British Empire back in the day

It still astonishes me that our ancestors commanded 3/4th of the world from a mere island

No need to be angry at me for being proud of my country's history

its just that NJ5 said the pound was weak now, when its really not as its going back to normal levels

So I guess Italians should be proud of Rome killing and enslaving the entire Mediteranian, Mongolians proud of Genghis Khan and his succesors raining down terror upon the world, and Germans proud of Hitler for, as short as time it was, becoming the fear of the entire world and bringing pride and glory to his broken nation?

You could kinda see now, why the Japanese conservatives think that it's a double standard why their Imperialism is looked at negatively and uniquely, and in a way, I guess they are right for once if Westerners do take pride in their own nation's history of Imperialism and brutality.

in history at school in fact we were taught tat we helped build schools, roads, railways & so on to develop countries we ruled

I hate conservatives and liberals, one side completely fluffs up something horrible and are Xenophobic, the other harbors on it and are Xenophiles.
