So what is The Path?

You missed my Best upcoming indie games of 2009 thread?

Here's the developer homepage summary:

The Path is a short horror game inspired by older versions of Little Red Ridinghood, set in modern day. The Path offers an atmospheric experience of exploration, discovery and introspection through a unique form of gameplay, designed to immerse you deeply into its dark themes. Every interaction in the game expresses an aspect of the narrative. The six protagonists each have their own age and personality and allow the player to live through the tale in different ways. Most of the story, however, relies on your active imagination.

Me, I dislike Horror games, mostly because they actually make me scared and I don't like being scared. I played The Path demo. I didn't actually leave the path. I survived. And I never dared touch the game again.

Same with me.  Many horror games look very interesting, but just I can't play them.

I bought the package yesterday and now I'm addicted to AudioSurf. Great game.

I played that non-stop for about 3 months last year when it first came out- it's fantastic. The best music I found to play was the old shoe-gazing stuff like Ride or My Bloody Valentine. Glossoli by Sigur Ros and (bizarrely) Life of Riley by the Lightning Seeds are also good as well.

Well, that's all I needed. I bought the pack.

Already bought and paid for. I've wanted most of those games for some time. Good thing I waited because this is a fantastic deal. :)

About Braid, I'm about an hour and a half into the game. I don't like it at all. :( Ironically, the one game I didn't know about, Mr. Robot, is the game I'm enjoying the most.

I'm a bit disappointed in Braid as well, especially after hearing such good things about it. I'm completely addicted to Crayon Physics Deluxe, though.

Hey, three bands I like. I was listening to Loveless again the other day. Thanks for the tip.

Now if I only knew how to copy all my several 1000 ripped songs of my CD collection from my stand-alone musicserver to my laptop. I love technical gadgets, but I'm often incapable of using most of their features. There's an internet help forum for my musicserver, but I don't understand a word...

Aye, most songs off Loveless work very well with it. Seagull by Ride is incredibly intense from start to finish.

Regarding your music server- can you map it as a network drive and then browse it via the Audiosurf menu, or is it a completely different set up?

I guess I'm missing the point on The Path.... Assumedly I'd need to wander away from it a bit, then.

I'm not entirely sure there is a point to it. Just explore and experience.

I think that's the coolest part of that game. There is an instruction, and if you follow it everything is fine. Just utterly boring. What happens when you 'break the rules' is the 'interesting' part.
