I find it funny, all the people who are saying "what PS1, PS2 problems, me and my friends all have one and it never broke!"

Yeah, and there are people and their friends with launch 360s that work, if they say "oh failure rate isn't an issue we all have working 360s from launch" you would not hesitate to laugh at them (i know i would tear into them for being in denial).

Early gen Ps1 and PS2 were built like crap, period. they fixed a lot with the newer models but the failure rate was unacceptable for the first few years.

Even though the failure rate was high, it was still reasonable for some people to never have any sort of problems.

One of my friends has had his N64 break twice, his gamecube once, and his Wii twice, he now says all Nintendo hardware is built like crap. In reality he was just extremely unlucky, nintendo hardware failures are extremely rare compared to other companies.

Case studies =/= evidence.

I have gone through 2 failed ps3s and I'm currently waiting on the slim before repurchasing (hopefully that one is more reliable than the 60gb). It's sad that people still think the ps3 is beyond failure. It has it's strong suits but dependability is not one of them unfortunately
