Forums - Microsoft - Steven Spielberg to Produce Halo Movie?

I've lost a lot of faith in Spielberg over the last couple of years, so I don't want to see him involved.

Same here. My guess would be he would end up putting Aliens in the Halo movie just like Indiana Jones..... That bastard.

Peter Jackson is still good right now though, so I would really like him to produce or direct.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to ever see a halo movie made. First thing first, the halo series isn't something that has a strong story in video games  let alone other mediums. I guess it is for the crowed that likes action first story second in terms of priority in their movies though.

You must not have read the books.  The Halo universe books are great space opera.  Nice mythology, great action, and some reasonably interesting characters.  Fall of Reach makes a great first movie and introduction to the universe.

Well then it depends on if they use the books as a basis or the games as a basis. If I had to choose though I would go with the third option that is they make their own adaption that has a good balance of action and story.

I don't believe it. Too many Halo movie rumors have turned out to be false, and this one doesn't seem any more credible.

Keep in mind guys, that the director is much more important than the producer. But, with a producer like Speilberg, they will be able to get a damn fine director.

This may very well be the best realized video game film ever made.

Too bad, I'm not a fan of Halo. :\

Pixel Art can be fun.

All three movies that you mentioned were fucking awesome so why would you be against MBay?  The irrationale hate for Bay boggles the mind.  All of his movies are highly entertaining romp-fests, which is what I want to see when I go to the movies.  Leave all of that cinema as art crap in the coffee house where it belongs.

So what were you expecting from a movie based on toys that transform between human vehicles and humanoid shaped robots?  For something like that, you get a director known for blowing shit up with style.  And that is who Michael Bay is.

And Speilberg did not produce The Island, thank you very much.

EDIT:  And if Bay did Halo, it would be a garaunteed box office success.  Mainly because the trailer alone.  Bay, explosions, Halo music, and Master Chief would make for the most epic trailer ever.  As for the actual quality of the film, that would be up in the air.
