I hope there is at least some 2d in it because I'm in the camp that says 3d metroids aren't real metroids. I like to look at samus instead of see through her mask.

"It seems that The Legend of Zelda: Wii is the weakest link in the coming together of the biggest year for a Nintendo console since..."
In terms of these three, Metroid is the weak link. The Zelda games sell a hell of a lot more.
And in terms of actual sales, the trinity is... it's actually a pentagram. Super Mario, Mario Kart, Wii Sports/Fit, Smash Bros, Pokemon. Those are Nintendo's top franchises. Getting all of those in one year would be a sales flood.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

^^By weakest link he means least likely to appear in 2010.

i dont care on what they say, it doesnt matter if Metroid is 2D or 3D, thsi game is going to be huge eitherway, it has great graphics, and a great team working behind it
Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

How is an 'Ask Iwata' segment a 'fake interview'?
Far too many people are using that as a rebuttal in this thread in my opinion.

Yeah, that one hundred percent was not fake.
Miyamoto did later say that the game wouldn't be too different, probably in the sense that Phantom Hourglass wasn't too different.

He should have made the clear. That section seemed like it was about sales. Heck, the term "weakest link" doesn't even fit.

It was completely clear that he was talking about release dates. I mean, that's the topic of the article.

It was not, because the sales were brought up, but not for Metroid, which made it look like it was about that.
