Forums - Microsoft - How many Xbox360s did you have to replace?

So...

12 people with problems
6 with no problems

50% failure rate confirmed?

Shit, gotta send these numbers to VGC fast before someone screws up the statistics!

I kid! And i also dont see the point of this thread.

If my math is wrong but um... 12 people with problems and 6 people without problems = 18 people total ... 12/18 = %67

...but i dont think an accurate answer will come from the result of this thread so its best not to base judgment here.

I have been pretty lucky, I haven't had an X360 break at all.

I got the Red Ring of Douche 3 times.

Never had a hardware problem, owned the console for almost 2 years.

Never had a RROD, thank goodness, but I had a HDD failure once. Since then though, I've always updated to the latest 360 hardware.

In April 2007, traded in my original White 360 and got the then brand new 360 Elite.

In September 2007, I got the Halo Edition 360 (no new hardware inside though)

In March 2009, traded in my Halo Edition and got the Resident Evil 5 (Jasper chip) Red 360 Elite. It's a sweet console, quiet as ever.

So in conclusion, I've had 0 RRODs and replaced one 360 for HDD failure.

Is there a big difference between your 2007 Elite and Red Resident Evil Elite? I got mine back in 07 so wondering if its worth it to upgrade, maybe wait for a slim (although its unlikely it'll ever happen ;-;)

Well, the RE5 360 is so quiet, even when spinning a disc, it's quieter than the the 2007 Elites. Beyond that, the sound that used to come out of the power brick, has also been eliminated. It's quieter, cooler, and IMO (because its red) sexier!!!

Haha, awesoem thanks. I have always wanted a Royal Blue 360 personally, so I might buy an arcade and do a mod job on it, and put my 120HD on it and keep my elite as a spare.

Since Sept 2007, no repairs yet (often goes weeks without use).

One video start up black out fixed by remounting HDD.

Don't plan on buying another until the next big revision/price drop.
