I have played demos I downloaded and didn't like, like Dead Space. Everyone I know kept saying how great Dead Space was, but I thought the demo sucked. I ended up picking it up anyway, and I really like the game. I guess sometimes the particular section a company decides to release as a demo isn't always the best. But the Batman demo was great! Can't wait, 15 more days! |
I finally bought a copy of Dead Space a week or so ago since it was about $20 although the demo instantly turned me off due to the game play and clunky controls. I was expecting it to have faster play like Bioshock so that was my mistake. I liked the background story (good advertising campaign build up with the digital comics and everything) and horror theme and mood, but the controls were just so rough.
It's pretty rare for me to buy a game where the demo left a poor impression to the point where I just wouldn't want to play any more, but I can suffer through less than idea controls if the ride itself (story, visuals, characters) is worth seeing through to the end.
And Dead Space is still in the shrink wrap. I'll probably end up playing Arkhan Asylum first.
Arkham Asylum is a game I see myself finishing within a week with constant play which is unusual for me. The demo really left me wanting to play more. I just had a lot of fun playing with it.
