I do not think that is the type of mushroom you will want to eat. I am not sure the type but i can tell you that the most common psychoactive mushrooms that grow in ohio are

Gymnopilus aeruginosus
Gymnopilus junonius
Gymnopilus luteofolius
Gymnopilus luteus
Panaeolus cinctulus
Psilocybe caerulipes
Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata

Which the mushroom you have isnt any of those.... So although its a cool specimen that is not something you want to eat... If that was even what you wanted to do with it. If you were just happy with a cool looking shroom then i am happy for you to (:

Hahaha, no, I definitely wasn't hoping it was an active shroom. I just want to know what the heck it is, period. It has me very curious.

Man, the country looks nice =) I loved it when I went to the country side when I visited my grand parent's graves in Japan (especially washing the grey granite (?) stones with water, and the incense(?) sticks smoking away).

I went to Penn State, and I guess that could count as the countries (until you get to the town and campus). If it weren't for the bugs, I love the countries. Especially when you go to really retro places and encounter really retro products. It makes you feel like you're in some brown and white flashback or something.

Dude! What you have there, is a rare "1-up" mushroom. With that thing, you can eat raw bacon, swim in lava, or have unprotected sex with Pamela Anderson!! Go ahead. Live on the edge!
