Forums - Gaming - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled Review.

6.5 Presentation
Hope you like the updated visuals, because you're stuck with them. Plenty XBLA games allow us to toggle between new and original graphics, so why not this one?
7.0 Graphics
The new visuals sport some nice lighting effects, but the original arcade graphics have a certain charm this version doesn't.
6.5 Sound
No TMNT cartoon theme to be found. The music is serviceable but generic, and the turtle voices are indistinguishable from one another.
5.5 Gameplay
The kiddie pool of game mechanics: hold right and mash the attack button. It was made for arcades and it shows in the cheap bosses and unavoidable traps.
5.0 Lasting Appeal
Four people can play cooperatively online but the game is short and dull to begin with.
5.9
Mediocre

I hate the look of this game but the 4 player option may make this a buy.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Its kinda expensive for a game u can beat in 30 mins, but i will probably end up buying it as it is one of my favorite games.

ha, I knew it had to be a Daemon Hatfield review. his face is dull!

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

I loved the game back on the SNES but did it really only take half hour to an hour to beat? I beat it a couple of times but I don't remember it being that short

It was a "remake" of the arcade version, what would you expect? Still, people that loved the game back then will still love it today. Too bad this review will give a bad name to this remake...

By the way, there's nothing bad in a game being short, even today. It's called "replay value" people.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

I hope this is good in my opinion. I was excited when i first heard of the remake, I loved the original SNES/arcade version (I use to play the arcade version at Chucky Cheeses years back)

Currently Playing: Mass Effect (360)

Bring back the music from the SNES version!!!

The music in this remake sucks :(

I thought the old arcade version was available as well.

I could be wrong, but I believe the SNES version only gave you a set amount of continues, forcing you to play carefully. The new version just gives you infinite continues, like if you're putting quarters in the machine over and over, so there's no need to really give an effort unless you're achievement hunting. That was the problem I had with TMNT 1989 Arcade Game on XBLA, and it took me like 45 minutes to an hour to finish by myself.

What they should have done is to allow your current level to be saved thus not forcing you to restart from the beginning of the game, but if you die you'll need to restart that level from scratch with a new set of lives/continues. This infinite continues shit just takes all challenge from the game, and there just isn't much left in the game without the challenge.
