I worked through university and took an extra course over the "Maximum" number of courses to get both of my degrees in a reasonable time; and I was surrounded by people who got far worse grades than I did, had a lighter course workload and didn't work at all (and almost all these people complained about how hard it was). In many of my courses my professors would comment that me and my friends were more like what the students used to be like a decade earlier before the University had (essentially) doubled enrollment by lowering standards. |
Also, don't assume because you had an easy time with something that makes it easy for everonye.
You may be incredibly good and things may just come naturally to you but that doesn't make it simple, that just means you're good at what you do.
I knew a guy that was majoring in physics, math, mechanical engineering, and something else (forget what it was) and he just didn't study and didn't even attend all his classes while still maintaining a very high GPA. Sometimes it was because he couldn't attend the classes (class schedule/work conflicts) for which he had special permission from the professors and other times it was because he just didn't want to. Why didn't he go to those others? He was busy partying and getting drunk.
Does that mean that all those degrees are trivial compared to what they were back in the day? Nope, just means he's a smart guy and can handle that. Some people are just that way.
