Natal will replace the TV remote

Repent or be destroyed

Could you imagine having to go through all of the same crap to get everything added to a universal remote with Natal? That would be a nightmare.

"TV: turn to channel 702"
"TV: turn to ESPN"
"TV: set volume at 35%"
"TV: record channel 736 from 8:30 PM to 9:30PM"
"TV: show listing of movies currently playing"
"TV: display current channel information"
"TV: display channel menu"

The only issue is making it work. Frankly, I'll be surprised if Natal is anywhere near that level, but in the future, you probably won't be using a hand held TV remote.

I crossed out what I thought were superfluous words.

Btw, working from a list of commands is easy peasy in comparison to recognition typing by at least a factor of 10.

Tease.

What was the Tom Clancy game that had Voice recognition in it?

With Microsoft making it clear that Natal will be not only be used on the Xbox 360, but will also be used on PC's; will we see it as something that will faze out the mouse eventually?

i can't play coh with a glorified eye toy, so no.

All of those (except volume) are superfluous functions - what's the point in having the ability to change channel, when there are no broadcasts? By the time this tech is in most people's homes, all content will be delivered on demand.

Search (Would be my blue button) Bruce Willis (Would be my remote mobile styley keypad)
Down, down, Select (would be my down arrow and my select button).
Play (Select button) Are you sure Yes (again my down arrow and select)

Die Hard 4.0 begins.

But then equally I could say Play Die Hard 4.0 but with movie names this could get complicated.

But the joy of not having to search twenty minutes for the remote would make this system a no brainer.

If multiple pieces of content had similar titles, the system could just bring up a list of all the conflicts, and the user just says "6" to select the sixth option.

Plus learner algorithms so that the system gets to know what the user is most likely to ask for (different users would have different voices so different profiles).
