Forums - Sony - Amazon Selling 160g Uncharted Bundle For Under 450$

Retailer Amazon.com this week price cut Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 160GB bundle SKU to under $450 in a new hardware discount.

On Wed., the PS3 160GB SKU held a sale price of $449.99, $50 off the $499.99 MSRP.

The 160GB SKU includes a copy of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and a PAIN downloadable game voucher.

Meanwhile, the PS3 80GB sells for $399.99.

Sony will sell the sequel to Uncharted, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, in Oct.

Sony in May increased its forecast for PS3 sales to 13 million this year.

Paving the way for clearing out inventory before the PS3 slim launches this Fall?
I think so.

How much did it sell this year to reach 13m?

It does seem a little suspicious that a lot of retailers, both sides of the 'pond' are suddenly reducing the price of the PS3 (the UK retailer being WHSmith reducing it to £200) so i think there is no doubt something is going to happen in Camp Sony, whether it be the Slim or not who knows!

Only time will tell but the suspense is getting insane! Bring on GC!!

I wonder how much sales will be affected by these discounts coming out all over the gaff, they're not highly marketed, and the different levels of price cuts can cause confusions in the consumer.

Still, there should still be a gain in sales from this, no matter how small.

It's probably nothing. Just business as usual. Still not evidence for the slim.
