Forums - Microsoft - How to turn off Xbox LIVE account Auto Renewal

seriously don't EVER give MS your CC # it took me a LOOOONG phone call to take it off those people are Nazis when it comes to making things complected. Your best choice is to bay those pre paid cards (even the customer service guy told me so on the phone !!).

didn't work for me I had to call them for the renewal thing... they did it right away though.

But they did not remove my credit card and that bugger expires soon, so I hope they don't do anything like using it next year....

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Um you can just update your CC information if it expires. I don't have to worry about my Live Expiring, I have 3 years to go ($30 year live codes are to be had if you look)

Why turn it off?

These days you can usually find 13 month XBL Gold cards for between $30 and $40 if you look around.

Where?

You have to look around. They were $40 on walmart.com and other such sites a few months ago, and then last month a few people were selling them for $30 on sites like eBay. The key is to wait for a deal and then stock up.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Wow, really good deals out there then. I thought it was just the $50.00 price.

I guess all the haters have just a little less to hate about Xbox Live.
