I believe evil_kenshin is referring to the 360 loss lead at the beginning of this generation. Not to any loss that Microsoft is having currently. I heard the figure cited a few times. Based upon the cost of components. This is typically forgotten due to the fact that few were paying attention way back when.
For instance there was a cost analysis that also said that of the three consoles the cost reduction on the Wii would be the slowest. Due largely to low end components that were not going to have chip reduction. Which was probably right as well, because have any of us heard about new processes for the Wii chip set.
God I miss the old analytical discussions from the very beginning of this generation.
