This gen so far has produced only a very few party games that are any good.

The only ones I can think of are Mario Kart WII, Smash Brothers brawl, Mario Party 8 and Little big planet.

Edit: Warren mentioned the Raving Rabids Series, and he is right, this is definately one of the better party games of this gen. 

Edit:Onyxmeth mentioned rock band for all consoles.... i really don't care for rock band, or any rythem games but I suppose he is correct.

The biggest disappoinment imho was the way they ruined Wario Ware's multiplayer mode, and even made it so you must unlock multiplayer mode.

And what's worse, i don't see anything on the horizon.

I know multiplayer online games are all the rage now, but playing online against a friend is no where as much fun as playing multiplayer local!  What do you guys think?

Does Halo 3 count? Getting together on a Friday night and playing with 7 other friends is pretty fun. System link 4 player split screen is great fun!

I find that Buzz is a very fun party game anyway usually play it when we have people over and it is always a good laugh, made more interesting with the PS Eye since people hate seeing photo's of themselves

Try Boom Blox Bash Party.

the only game my friends used to play 4 player was cod4 on my ps3...because my roommate only had 2 360 controllers so they couldn't play halo (Thank god :D)

The Bomberman games were great back in the day.

Buzz! Quiz TV is alot of fun. Everybody should try it. It's the best this gen IMO.

Raving Rabbids series owns everything that was released if we're talking about party games. nothing comes close
