Forums - Microsoft - What Steering Wheel to buy!

MS wheel for Forza? no, just no. please stop. i have Drive FX and i tried MS wheel. the worst thing you can do if you are racing fan and want a wheel for your xbox 360 is to get MS wheel.

the only thing that is good about this wheel is that it have force feedback. Drive FX doesn't have one but it have simillar technology that works pretty much the same - it just doesn't have Force Feedback stamp on the box.
MS wheel is more expensive, quality of the wheel is non existing, turns only 210 degrees(so it's less than arcade wheels) and feels more like flying than driving.

be a good boy and buy DriveFX - it's cheaper and better for games like Forza.

That's the worst thing about the MS wheel. Didn't much care for the servo motor feel of the FF either. Feels like you're driving one of those plastic motorized children's cars. Not even like a gas powered go-cart.

The DriveFX is very poor too. It's basically the Xbox version of the PS2/3 Driving Force EX which I had a few months back. It's pure plastic, very small, doesn't have 900 degree turn or a gear stick, has average FF and has cheap pedals.

No doubt. lol! Simple truth is most video game steering wheel peripherals are built like toys because... they are toys.

But some of the high end ones use good enough materials to *almost* simulate the feel of a good racing steering wheel and stick shifter.

But 900 degree wheel turn is pretty much mandatory if a peripheral maker is even bothering to shoot for any degree of realism.

I've played on the MS Wheel many times around a friends and love it, it will be the one I buy soon, best wheel I have used so am more than happy to buy it :)

I've tried a few but a wheel is a wheel to me, I tried the MS one and thought it was fantastic, good build quality, good rumble, good feel to it and superb force feedback, I'm not buying a wheel to please you lot, i'm buying it for me!

But for the new F1 game by Codemasters having a 900 degree wheel eill FULLY take away the realism. F1 cars have a 240 degree turn. So the wheel is perfect for that.

Those are pretty badass.

I'd wait till Forza 3 comes out, there might be a new wheel to support the clutch. MS should make a wheel that fully supports their game, right?
