Forums - Microsoft - What Steering Wheel to buy!

Many users over the 10 pages of Forza 3 posts in the Official Forza 3 thread have been asking what wheel to buy if money is an issue.

Well to answer that it's rather simple.

No doubt if you have the money the new Porche wheel coming out is the one to get. Many PC users will be moving to this wheel as well, it has impressed at E3 with the Forza 3 booth, with many media playtests saying it's the best wheel they have ever used.

But if money is an issue the official 360 wireless wheel is without a doubt no slouch. In fact the only downside to some gamers will be the lack of clutch and gear stick. The Force feedback you needn't worry about. It is as good as the high costing wheels in this regard. Also if your into F1 with the new game coming it really is the best wheel for that. As it has a 240 degree turn just like F1 cars and obviously the paddle shift replicates the gears in F1.

Anyway here is the wheel in action. If money is an issue this is the wheel to own. £69.99 in UK and I believe $100 in America. Get it.

I got that wheel! They gave me Forza 2 and PGR4 with it as a bonus. It was a steal for $70 U.S.D.

Tease.

£69.99!

That MS wheel is an absolute rip off, Ive played on £40 Logitech ones as good as it. For £69.99 I expect full 900 degree turning and a gear stick.

I really want to try that Porsche wheel though, to see how it stacks up to the G25.

The Porsche wheel doesn't lol, there are allot of reviews out there comparing the two, all of which say that even though the Porsche wheel is nice, it just can't compete with the elite awesomesauceness of the G25.

I have the G25 for my PC. GTR2 baby!. It's a great wheel. But I'll be smaking the switch to the Porche wheel from what Ive read. Also this is for 360 owners really, so those Logitech wheels ar nullified in converstion here. But the previous Logi wheels I owned prior to G25 for PC that had FF are not as good as M$ official wheel. The FF is much better.

Logitech's Gran Turismo wheel says otherwise!

Well Im currently using the Driving Force GT but Ive used the G25 on numerous occassions. There's no denying that the G25 rocks!

I'm so gona save up and get the next one coming out, I think it's the G27 or something?

You must be referring to the Phase 1 Porche wheel. Because the one at E3 both for Forza 3 was a work in progress. And is still be finalised through to October. There isn't reviews on an unfinished wheel. :)

But the playtests from E3 Porche wheel ( which releases alongside Forza 3 ) have been phenominal. InsideSimRacing simply said the best they have ever used.

All those Logitech wheels do have poor FF compared to the MS wheel except for the G25, upcoming G27 and the Driving Force GT (best wheel ever for the money. £60 of amazon, 900 degree turn, gear stick, amazing FF, average pedals though).

Dont know if you noticed, but this is a 360 thread. If I'm right the one you posted is PS3 only. So how is that gonna benefit 360 owners for Forza 3?
