3rd party games sell better on the PSP because 1st party games suck. I have a PSP (again) and a DS. I have 10 3rd party games on my DS and 5 1st party and i have 11 games on the PSP ALL of them 3rd party. When you have a PSP or a PS3 you have no other option, you buy 3rd parties. And the 3rd party games on the Wii are much cheaper to make so if they make a profit on a PS3 when it gets 200k sales, on the Wii they make a profit when they get 100k copies. See my point? Even if they sale less, they don't care if they make more profit

What, you *really* want to play that game? Are you being that silly? Tell me, Kwaad, what percentage of N64 games in any given month were in the top 200? Now, we're not talking absolute numbers, just percentages. What percentage of PS1 games were? If fewer games are out, a higher percentage of them will sell well. That's simple macro-economic theory. And I should know, I'm typing this in the middle of my "Consumer and the Firm" class.

This is not 90% of nintendo console games are nintendo. This is. Hard, Cold numbers. Not counting nintendo as a publisher.

anyways, kwaad, i don't really see the point in comparing DS and Wii, except to show that, even without correct or quality third party support, a console can be very successful... in which case, either way, the wii will be a success ....

Ummm... care to say that using grammar? Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what you wanted to say here.

In software... DS actually comes closer to 3:1 over the PSP and recent hardware sales are about the same Dragon Quest Monsters Joker, Tamogotchi Connection: Corner Shop, Sonic Rush, Love and Berry DS Collection, Final Fantasy III That's 5 1m+ sellers right there, though a LOT of titles are missing from the charts here. I really don't think 3rd party sales are as dismal as you think, granted Nintendo tends to crush everything on their own systems, but general worldwide sales they tend to crush everybody on every system besides EA.

1.) Wii third party sales are significantly higher than PS3 third party sales. That Wii has a higher installed base is irrelevant since they both launched at the same time and publishers don't care if Sony can't sell their hardware. 2.) Almost all the best selling PSP games (third party or otherwise) are from 2005 when it's software still sold well and almost every publisher expected it to beat the DS. (There are btw 6 third party million sellers on PSP, not 7. Monster Hunter 2 will get there soon, but if we count future million sellers them the DS has a few more as well.)

Because Sony can't make 1st party games that well, and Nintendo can.
