So the PS3 is even more doomed then? The third parties are doing worse than the Wii's. In fact, almost all parties do worse, including first party stuff.

umm... ranzchic - my point is... 3rd party sony games do BETTER than Wii 3rd party... SAME GAME. Madden PS3 - 335,250 Madden Wii - 311,250 24,000 less copies. Why? The Wii has 1.9x more units sold?

Remember that nobody knew what to do with the DS at first. With PSP, it was easy to just port whatever game you thought would sell well, but with the DS, there were maybe half a dozen third-party games that even had a clue of what they were doing for the first year, giver or take. Nintendo faster with quality titles because, hey, they had more time to tinker with the DS idea. 3rd party developers arejust now figuring out what it takes to make a solid DS game. I don't know where you got your list of million+ games, but I'd be willing to bet that the 3rd party DS games came out later, on average, than the PSP games. Wait and see... If the Phoenix Wright games aren't on that list, at least one or two of them will be. DQIX will definitely be. Nintendo's a powerful first party. Sony isn't. All 3rd parties need to do is learn from the Big N, and make improvements. Nintendo had some of the first sports games, racing games, light gun games... but look who's making the best ones now. As far as the Wii is concerned, give it time. Nobody's even sure of the demographic that's buying the Wii. Sure, it's "everybody," but how many "everybody"s are over 40? How many are under 12? How many are female? That kind of info won't be hinted at until we can see some solid game-buying trends, and *then* studios will know what kinds of games will sell well on Wii. (yeah, yeah the answer is Nintendo games... but what else would you expect from the world's most innovative publishing house?)
that's easy to understand, kwaad. ps3 had no games! when madden came out, every single ps3 american buyer thought: "well, i buy this or a blu-ray movie, otherwise my wife will start asking me what the hell is that thing sitting on the living room for."
Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!
fishamaphone - you make a good point on the DS/PSP story there. I have one thing to say tho. Another funny Wii number thing I just found. Total there are 15 PS3 games in the top 200 in febuary (Americas) Total there are 20 Wii games in the top 200 in febuary (Americas) There are 37 Wii games out. (in febuary) There are 21 PS3 games out. (in febuary) 71% of PS3 games are in the top 200. 54% of Wii games are in the top 200. EDIT Since were getting nit-picky. PS3 Need for Speed: Carbon EA (feb)24,750 TOTAL185,500 Wii Need for Speed: Carbon EA (feb)18,000 TOTAL128,250 A 6,000 unit diffrence. Pro PS3, and a 50,000+ sales diffrence total. ;)
