Instead of criticizing him, why not refute what he is saying if you disagree with him.

Obama apologized to Crowley, as he shoud have. 

Obama commented because he is friends with Gates, and its natural for people to side with friends and relatives if they dont know the facts are against them (and many times if they know the facts are against them).  As president he should have been above this, but he has apologized for making the mistake so there isnt much left he can do.

yea, and I don't really hold this against Obama. I just hate that the media doesn't really care much, but if the colors were reversed, the President would have been crucified by the media.

This thread is more a commentary on the double standard, then it is Obama.

I'd agree that there's a double standard, but then on the other hand, who gives a crap? Whites are the majority and hold far more power than the other races in America. And you're complaining that there's a double standard in racism from an incident that didn't actually involve racism? I'm really wondering why I'm supposed to care.

What do you mean didn't involve racism? This was all about racism, but it was all on Gates.

If the cop who has first arrived on the scene was black, none of this ever would have happened. Gates would have just thanked the officer for protecting his house, and it would have been over.

Case in point, I just went to CNN.com, and the lead story is this:

"Your color may determine how doctor treats you", along with the three sub stories:

Doctor bias over race, weight
Voices of black America
'Black in America 2,' Sat./Sun, 8p ET

So in the end, a white guy was discriminated against, and the media defuses it by pushing articles that try and justify the behavior.

I hate the media.
