Forums - General - Why are so many police officers dieding in the line of duty....

Found this on slay police officers http://www.odmp.org/year.php (Honoring Officers Killed in the Year 2009, USA).

Its the amount of gun deaths that is shocking, out of 70 police deaths so far in 2009 their are 25 gun deaths.  What is happening in the states for people to kill police officers and have shootouts.

I watch alot of american cop programs on UK tv and your police are tough and mean (maybe to mean sometimes), I mean american police don't take any crap from suspects but still your cop killings are going though the roof, Why?

One officer (this touched my heart).  Sergeant Steve May died on the 23th July 2009, 7 years after his patrol car was rammed by a suspect in a stolen vehicle.  Sergeant May never regain consciousness and succumbed from his injuries seven years later.  This is really sad and no one derserves this.

The police I have always come across for the most part get a big head, even if they had good intentions prior to joining.
