Awesome news!
As a non-Steamer, I have a question: are these games fiddled by Steam etc. to work on modern systems, or are progs like DOSbox still needed for them?
Seriously friggin tempting to join now...This +Lucasarts? this means other faves are on their way - LSL, Ploice Quest, Quest for Glory, Manhunter etc., almost too good to be true!

You don't need to fiddle with DosBox or anything like that, they just work right through Steam and you can play them on any computer you have Steam setup on.

Im going to get them! Well Space Quest anyway.

Never played space quest, so I can't comment on that.  Kings quest though?  I suggest people stay away from them.  They were great at the time, but just terrible nowadays.  They're best left in your memories, where they can remain a great part of your childhood.  Well, my childhood.   Some of you may have been much older at the time.  =P

I can totally understand you saying that about 3 and 4, if people have never used a game where you enter text then I can understand 1 and 2, but King's Quest 5 and 6 (especially 6) are pretty great and 7 isn't even as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

And really, $15 for King's Quest VI alone is totally worth it.  The only thing that may turn people off is they aren't use to adventure games where you can die at any time or not realize you may have to go to one side of the world so you can use something on the other side of teh world.

Also, I was just curious and ran King's Quest III and it appears as though it opens and runs DosBox for you and that's how they get it to run.

My adventure was cut short. I can't purchase them on steam. Why oh why are so many of these Steam games not coming out to my country?!

Because Australia is full of thieves and Valve doesn't like thieves.

Who do I have to kill to get this game?

Bring me the head of Montana and I'll gift you the game.

Deal!

Btw its nice to see you're playing Ghostbusters! Oh and how are you finding Red Faction? Does it have good multiplayer beyond the single? I was thinking of getting it for my PC or PS3.
