So I beat FF9 twice and im now just realising Vivi died..........

The ending seriously hinted that he died, or that he will die very soon after. The part where he is narrating, at least to me, certainly sounds like a farewell to the world:

"I'm so happy I met everyone... I wish we could've gone on more adventures.
But I guess we all have to say goodbye someday."

"Everyone... Thank you. Farewell."

"My memories will be part of the sky..."

When I beat the game, I figured it was pretty clear that Vivi was dead. It hit me hard too because he was my favourite character in the game. I looked up the exact quotations just now only to prove my point in this topic.

EDIT: Hmm, I just realized that the guide I used to get these quotations was posted two posts before mine...I should really read the entire topic before I post

The fact that vivi dying is so moving is a testiment to the awesomeness of FFIX.

I seriously cared a whole lot more about Vivi dying than Aeris dying, and you dont even see vivi die!
