Forums - Microsoft - 'Plants vs. Zombies' Coming to Xbox Live Arcade

Plants vs. Zombies is an all-new action-strategy game from PopCap, known for Bejeweled and Peggle! Zombies are invading your home, and the only defense is your arsenal of plants! Comic-Con is not the only event currently being held, at the Casual Connect in Seattle we met with PopCap's Garth Chouteau who revealed to us that P vs. Z is coming to XBLA, but did not elaborate any further on whether we can expect extras such as achievements, multiplayer or even a release date.

Woo hoo!

Obviously this is happening because Peggle sold so well on XBLA. Hopefully they figure out the controls, that's the only concern.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Popcap is a much better company on PC and XBL than they are on cell phones.

THANK YOU! I have been wanting to try this game, but oddly enough it is my PC which needs some more hard drive space and I just don't have the time to buy a bigger hard drive and move data over.

Isn't this a tower defense genre type game? You pick plants and upgrade them and they kill the waves of zombies?

umm the game is about 60mb on PC, if you don't have that kind of space available then i can sense i crisis coming soon

Yes, it's a tower defense game. You don't technically 'upgrade' your plants, but you replace them with better ones.

Well I guess I could easily still fit the game on PC. I just don't like buying the smaller Steam games I guess. Who knows.
