Laptop keeps making this beeping sound,Help?

Every now and then my laptop which is not old(got it in 2007) keeps making this "BEEP" sound but only happens every now and then, And for very fast quick....

Second also,and I've also notice that it freezes for a split second when i'm surfing the web or on checking on stuff, I've never really cared about it till' this week,The only thing im worried is that one day i don't want to wake up one early morning and my apps,games and music is all gone from my hard drive,Can anyone help me get rid of that sound i've notice the sound comes from the Hard drive i think or whatever(Sorry i don't know much about computers in general),Any help is welcome.
