Ummm, you two should just get a room, perhaps in a thread you've started.

OT, does anyone know when we'll be able to see these short films?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

How dare you,   you impudent pasty faced dumdum.  Anyway, this article says that you can watch Halo on Blu-ray in 2010

"While Microsoft may be holding back on Blu-ray for their Xbox 360 video game system, they will allow a new seven part anime series based on the popular Xbox-exclusive game Halo to be released on the high definition format. 'Halo Legends', which is currently being worked for a 2010 release, will feature seven short anime films based in the Halo universe.

In a move that will invoke comparisons to 'The Animatrix', Microsoft has enlisted the help from popular anime studios Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation to produce the content. The shorts will first be previewed on Xbox Live, with a Blu-ray and DVD release through Warner Brothers soon after."

Cool, thanks.

And if you get the Blu ray copy you'll be doing the good guys a favor.

Just to let everyone know, I own that Magnavox BD player and it is an old profile player with no options for updating it. That means some features will not be available(ie. BD Live), and some movies might not play at all. I have yet to get a movie that will not play, but I think it was an incredibly dumb move to have a specification be updated after players are on the market, at least without standard internet hookups from the get go.

Also, the player is clunky and slow. But the picture is darn good.

Getting a blu-ray version of an Anime seems like a big waste.  Oh no's!  My edges are just barely less sharp!

^As to the Magnavox player, it performs the same as all the Profile 1.1 players.

That's another down side of Blu-Ray.  HD-DVD had their version of Blu-Ray's 2.0 profile from nearly the beginning and nearly all of them were network ready if not all of them.  That and they were cheaper as well as the discs were cheaper.  It's a really big shame HD-DVD didn't win out.  But I'm digging up old bones here

TONIGHT ON GAMETRAILERS TV THEY WILL SHOW A TRAILER OF THE ANIME!

The PS3 is still considered to be one of the better mid-range blu ray players out there.  Just get a PS3, buy some PS3 games and come see the light my friend

Watch Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray and you'll quickly change your tune.  It's stunning and a HUGE improvement over the DVD.  Assuming you have an HD set, obviously.

Nah, I didn't play the PS3 games enough.  Sold mine, got a standalone player not too much more expensive than the Magnavox and just a tad bit better.  Best decision I ever made.  Now if the PS3 were $200, then I'd use it as both a games console and BD player.  I'd force myself to like the PS3 exclusives for that price
