No matter if you use component cables, 480P will always look shitty on an HDTV. You'll just have to deal.

Again... that is not true. A good HDTV upscales the image so that it looks the same as on a equally sized EDTV.

Conclusion: If you don't like Wii graphics on your HDTV, it's either because you don't like Wii graphics, or your HDTV has bad scaling.

I have a 32" HDTV with my Wii hooked up to it via component cables and it looks absolutely fine.

I suggest you tinker with the settings - a bit a tweaking should do the trick.

And you got jaggies because your HDTV doesn't have a good upscale engine. In my 42' TV only the WII ***** (Sports, Music, Fit) have jaggies. None other (I tried).

That is just bullshit. I have a good LCD-screen and the only thing which looks bad on it as 480p is the wii. 360/PC does not have that kind of jaggies on 480p setting. Galaxy, conduit and even wii sports has terrible jaggies.

Well, don't know about that. My PLASMA doesn't have any, except, like I said, in Wii series games. And if you want, I can show some print screens ;)

Edit: Except if you're talking about one single model in some scenario that has it. I'm speaking generaly! But, if that's the case, I can also show it on any HD titles on my X360 or PS3...

not all 480p signals are created equal, and some upscallers do great with the signal, while others suck at it. The 480p signal coming out of the Wii seems to give most upscallers problems, but the really good ones do fine with it. My 32" TV sucks with the Wii at 480p, but my parents 54" TV works great with the Wii. My TV Works fine with a DVD at 480p. Obviously something is pointing towards upscaller built into my TV can not handle the Wii's 480p output while better TVs can.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

It's not about the screen, it's the TV hardware that upscales the signal.

I have a 46" 1080P Bravia, and the Wii looks fantastic.

Don't blame the Wii, blame the TV.

There is no connection between the quality of the screen and tthe upscale engine.

And BTW, Manos, what do you call a good LCD screen?
