Wii games look pretty good on my small crt-tv but on my lcd they look quite bad.

ive got a 7-8 years old SD 32" TV and Wii looks fine, so does the xbox 360 (i know im missing out on HD but i couldnt care less for graphics)

I was hype about The Conduit when HVS said it will be the best looking game to date on the Wii...

I bought it, played it on my Sony hdtv -with component cables and the Wii set at 480p, I was like wow, this is not what I was expecting to see.

I double checked to make sure it wasn't in the PS2....joking, that's how bad it looked.

So I went to connect it on to my standard 480i CRT tv with standard AV cables and the Wii set back to 480i, still it looked bad, I was really disappointed with all the false advertisement given of being a graphical bench mark for a Wii game.. I concluded that The Condiut is just a bad looking game and not a hardware limitation.

Xcite truck looks way better so does Red Steel ..

I have yet to see a Wii game looking better than Resident Evil 4, a game that's considered the best graphics of last gen..

I started to believe that the Wii is not as powerful as the original XBOX, it can barely match what the Gamecube has achieved ..

If there's proof that the Wii can do better graphically than a game like The Chronicles of Riddick from the original Xbox than the Wii is a pretty strong system but as of now its just a modded Gamecube...and some cases the gamecbe had better looking games than the Wii.

I dont really care anymore if the Wii is this and that, I decided to use the Wii for Nintendo only games, Wiiware and for the Virtual Console channel and of course the internet channel.

Excite Truck and Red Steel are pretty much the low end of "serious" games on the Wii graphically. They don't have nowhere as much things going on as the conduit, and to be honest, most people who say the conduit looks bad from a technical perspective have only played the first level or two. Now in terms of artistic ability, the conduit looks horrible. I was extremely dissapointed by how ugly it looked. The only things that looked anywhere remotely good from an artistic standpoint were the Drudge. Btw the conduit is more technically impressive than BOTH Resident Evil 4 AND Riddick(xbox version not PC). The Wii surpassed the Xbox with Metroid Prime 3. Now there are close to a Dozen games on the Wii that are more technically impressive than what the Xbox has to offer, some even being multiplat(silent hill). So while you say it looks like a slightly better gamecube to you, that doesn't mean it IS a  slightly better gamecube. Actually the gamecube and xbox perform pretty much the same, but from different areas.

I finished The Conduit and played little online and traded it in has fast as possible, the resale value is a little over $25 ..

I give you that, that The Condiut wasnt a graphical succes but, it really did some impressive special effects..

I want the Wii to do xbox and a little bit more believe me, I'm just over it, if it can than good if it cant than ok...

I hope Nintendo raises the bar with Metroid M,  making it m rated, greety, dark looking, online multiplayer, Metroid game.

@Mvp4eva Well that is a little off-topic. You are starting to go into other areas not related to graphics. Oh and everything in your post I would be ok with other than online multiplayer. The only way I want online multiplayer or any kind of multiplayer in the Action-Adventure game that is the Metroid series is if it keeps the Action Adventure aspects. Btw I mean I want WHOLE areas open in multiplayer, not small sections that you see in linear Shooters. They could add gameplay similar to hide and seek, or something like that. Just keep the adventuring aspects. That is something that I see as limiting the single player though, and if that is the case I don't want it at all. An example of a metroid game's single player being limited by multiplayer is the good, but not amazing Metroid Prime:Hunters. It is the only game in the series that I wouldn't classify as Action-Adventure, and deserves the description FPS.

get a flat screen plasma TV instead, your Wii games will look much better.

Try lowering the Sharpness on your TV, it will look blurrier though.

The last time I played on a LCD the image looked exactly the same as on my 480p CRT (both are 32'' screens), meaning that the upscaling is working perfectly.

It has nothing to do with LCD or Plasma differences, it has everything to do with how good the scaling chips in the TV are.

It's just a little softer, I personally use a LCD type HDTV and the upscaler in it is pretty good but it's really sharp so uh, I get sharp blocks instead of jaggies which looks fine but a little weird, looks really good on my couch though, not like I'd play too close to the TV. I also use a hardware upscaler for my WS monitor when I play it on that.
